NOTIFICATION NO.03/2023 Requirement of Junior Research Fellow (JRF 4 Positions), Project Assistant (PA – 4 Positions), Laboratory Assistant (LA – 1 Position) and Multi-tasking Staff (3 Positions: 2 — Driver Specialization and 1 – General) for carrying out the Projects under AIWC Annual Plan of Operations 2022-23 and Project under Modernisation of Forest Force at AIWC, Vandalur, on contractual basis.

The Advanced Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC), a premier Institute under Tamil Nadu Forest Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the field of wildlife research, training and education invites applications from Indian Nationals for the temporary project based positions of Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Project Assistant (PA), Laboratory Assistant (LA) and Multi-tasking Staff (MTS) for carrying out the Projects under AIWC Annual Plan of Operations – 2022-23 and Project under Modernisation of Forest Force at AIWC Vandalur, on contractual basis, through short listing of application based on educational qualification and personal interview. Details of the position along with essential and desirable qualifications, and monthly consolidated remuneration are given in Annexure-1 The last date of receipt of completed application forms along with supporting documents is 10.02.2023 (Friday) up to 5.00 PM. The duly filled in application with documents should be sent by hard copy to the below signed authority by post preferably or by email to aiwcrte@tn.gov.in
1. Age limit for Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Project Assistant (PA). Laboratory Assistant (LA) and Multi-tasking Staff (MTS) are 28 years as on 01.01.2023 but age relaxation will be considered as per Government of Tamil Nadu norms for Reserved category candidates.
The upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women/ BC/MBC and Physically challenged category.
2. Application should be in the prescribed format, duly signed and should be accompanied by self-attested copies of documents on educational qualifications, research experience, UGC/CSIR/GATE certificate (if applicable), extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheets of all examinations, community certificate (if seeking relaxation as per Government of Tamil Nadu rules) etc.
3. The Institute will not provide accommodation and no TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing for the personal interview. The interview will be in either online or physical mode.
4. At the time of the verification of original documents or even after selection, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to wilfully conceal, misrepresent the facts or canvass, such application will be rejected, and due action will be taken against the candidate.

6. The date and time of the personal interview will be intimated individually by email to the shortlisted candidates.
7. The candidates who score equivalent marks, the senior person in terms of the Date of Birth shall be given priority.
8. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Director AIWC, reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.
PROJECT under ‘Modernization of Forest Force’. The work will be more focused towards the development of a spectral data base for the identification of wildlife articles by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR)

M.Se./ M.Tech. in Biotechnology / Molecular Biology /Genetics / Biochemistry
Essential Qualification: Master Degree in any of the above disciplines with a minimum60% aggregate marks from a recognized university
Desirable Qualification: Candidates should have a strong understanding of biological samples characterisation. and characterization techniques including the following: XRD, FESEM, Raman/FTIR spectroscopy, UV -VIS/PL spectroscopy. Good communication skills, Report and scientific article writing skills and oral. Should possess the typing skill at lower grade level.

Annual Plan of Operations 2022-2023 – PROJECT 1 – Study on haemoprotozoan disease infection in zoo carnivores. This project deals with assessment of haemoprotozoan infection prevalence in wild carnivores by microscopic, serological and molecular techniques.

Annual Plan of Operations 2022-2023 – PROJECT 3 – Comprehensive analysis of road kills in Tamil Nadu highway network: Identifying hotspots and suggesting mitigation measures
